MGM studio actress Ann Rutherford had a long career during the Golden Age of Hollywood, boasting more than 50 film credits to her name. Famously she played Scarlett’s younger sister, Careen, in the 1939 film “Gone With the Wind.” She was married first to David May II, the grandson of the May Department Stores Company founder, then to William Dozier, the 1960s “Batman” TV series producer. In 1942 Ann Rutherford and David May II hired William “Billy” Haines to design the interior of their Hollywood residence, and Rutherford continued to be one of his main clients.
